The Game Awards announced its nominations for the 2024 ceremony on Monday.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Team Asobi’s Astro Bot lead the pack of nominees with seven nominations each, including game of the year. Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio earned six nominations, LocalThunk’s Balatro earned five and Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong and FromSoftware’s Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree both earned four, rounding out the game of the year category.

Major film and television studios and streamers were among this year’s nominations, due to the uptick in video game adaptions. The show’s best adaptation category includes Netflix‘s Arcane, Amazon‘s Fallout, Paramount+’s Sonic universe-set Knuckles, Amazon’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza and Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
